Beach Sports

Beach Polo
Beach Polo
Beach Polo is a team sport and close variant of arena polo. A game of beach polo consists of two three-player teams as opposed to the usual four-player teams in field polo. A game consists of four seven minute periods of play, called chukkers. The game is played in an enclosed sand arena with sideboards of approximately four feet in height, designed to keep the ball in play. Depending on playing areas available, some of the playing arenas have enclosed ends while others allow for 20 yards of run out room for the horses, past the end line, and utilize standing goal posts.
Two umpires are suggested for tournament play which may be stationed outside the arena to officiate the game. Penalties are called and resulting free hits are awarded to the fouled party.
Traditional polo ponies are used with players changing horses following each chucker.
Unlike the hard plastic ball used in field polo, beach polo employs leather or rubber inflated ball no less than 12.5 inches in circumference. Other equipment employed is the same as that used in field or arena polo.

Beach Rugby
Beach rugby
Beach rugby is a sport that can be based on either of the rugby football codes, league or union. There is no centralized regulation of the sport as in beach soccer or beach volleyball, but leagues are common across Europe[citation needed], and the sport is particularly popular in Italy[citation needed]. Casual games are played across the world using different sets of rules, but organized leagues use a field that is a fraction of the size of a standard rugby field, far fewer players on each team, shorter matches, and a simplified scoring system. A popular tournament in the United States is 7's By The Sea is hosted in Corpus Christi, Texas each summer.

Bat and Ball

Bat and Ball (sometimes called Sandball) is a team sport where two teams pass and bounce a ball, trying to throw it in the goal of the opposing team. The game is similar to team handball, but is not played in a sports hall but on sand instead. Matches are played in two or three sets, depending on when a team wins their second set of the game. If the goalkeeper scores a goal this counts as 2 points, compared to a goal scored by an outfield player which counts as 1 point.
Backyard cricket
Backyard cricket, street cricket, beach cricket, gully cricket, corridor cricket (Hindi: galli = "alley") or garden cricket is an informal ad hoc variant of the game of cricket, played by people of both sexes and all ages in gardens, back yards, on the street, in parks, carparks, beaches and any area not specifically intended for the purpose. Garden cricket in the UK is considered by many to be the pinnacle event of social and sporting excellence in the summer period. Many games are paired with a barbecue which often has a carnival atmosphere.

Beach Basketball
Beach Basketball
Beach Basketball is a modified version of basketball, played on beaches. It was invented in the USA by Philip Bryant. Beach basketballs is played in a circular court with no backboard on the goal and no out-of-bounds rule, with the ball movement to be done via passes or 2½ steps, as dribbling is next to impossible on sand. Beach basketball has become a very popular, widespread competitive sport. Fifteen Annual World Championships have been organized.

7 tips to deal with fussy and picky eating kids
Fine. Everyone said you’re the best cook since the time you started cooking. Your guests never stop praising all the delicacies that you shower on them. You always get phone calls from friends asking for recipies for your special items. You take much more care and pain to cook for your beloved kid. But …………….. He/ she don’t want to eat and always fusses at the dining table.
This is very annoying

Don’t worry. You’re not alone! Every home has a fussy eating kid. They test your patience, you feel like beating them or tying them up and putting all the food into their mouth. Sometimes you just starve as you don’t feel like eating when they are going empty stomach. But, that is not a solution. Remember that this action of yours will not fill their stomach. Then what is the solution?

Here, a number of ways are suggested which might make your child eat. As every child is unique, some might work for some kids and some might for some others. Try all of them.

1)      Don’t force or threaten: It is not fair on our part to punish them if they do not eat. We too do not feel like eating so times. Imagine how we would we feel if someone threatens us a punishment when we are not in a mood to eat. This also makes kids dislike food more. Instead you can follow the next step.
2)      Starve them: Remember the time when your kid was a new born baby. You never had to force him/her milk. Instead they would cry when they felt hungry. Hunger is a natural thing. When they say no to food, plead them. When they are adamant, leave them. Do that every day. Let them play. How many days can he/she be hungry? Let them experience hunger. Just keep cooking delicious food every day, keep the junk food away. They will come back for regular food after a few days. This of course seems as a harsh way, but it is better than threatening them, as that will have a psychological affect and change their attitude towards their food intake. Remember that you do this only when the child is healthy and is on a vacation home, as not eating might cause dizziness. Do not show your frustration when he/she says no to food. Instead say ok and move on with your lunch and dinner. Pretend as if  his “not eating” does not bother you. Be patient and you will see the results soon.
3)      Make the food attractive: Kids love colors, magic, decoration, cartoons and so on. Bring out your creativity. Serve the food in the most attractive way possible. Make faces with sauce. Cut salads in different shapes. Ask them to guess what you have made. Change their serving bowls from time to time. Let them choose their plates from the shop.
4)      Involve them in cooking: This will make them feel more responsible. They will be curious to know about the preparation methods. They definitely will be more interested in eating food that they have participated in preparing rather than something which has been made with all the effort that they never see.
5)      Set timetable: Be realistic when you serve food to them. Agreed that you can afford to feed them a variety of dishes. But, remember that he/she might not have the capacity to take them. Always pestering them to eat this and that will also makes them dislike food. Give a proper gap between the feedings. Let them feel hungry. Every child who is healthy does feel hungry as we feel. If you are going to feed a full meal, then make sure that they do not eat chips or other snacks just before that as they are very filling to the tummy. Try to maintain specific times for their food. They will automatically feel hungry at the particular time they are supposed to eat (if they are not gulping anything in between).
6)      Let the child decide the menu: Children love if you take their advice. Ask them the menu once in a while.
7)      Same meal time: Try to coincide the child’s meal time to the family’s meal time. This is a traditional way of eating too. Probably eating together is one of the reasons that kids were less fussy in olden days. Do not be very strict regarding the way they are eating and do not say things like they are fat or thin while they are taking food. This will only annoy them. Just serve the common food and pretend as if you are not noticing how they are eating. Start a conversation, so that they are involved in that and they finish their food before they realize.
Happy parenting

AVE Beach Resort

The Sotha Vilai or Chothavilai beach is one among the most important beaches in the district of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. The beach here stretches over 4 km which make it one among the longest beaches in Tamil Nadu. It is about 10 km from Kanyakumari, close to Sanguthurai beach.
Sanguthurai Beach is about 8 km from Nagercoil is a palm-fringed and sandy beach. It has a huge white pillar with a tiny black conch built during the Chola period. From this beach you can see as far as the Vivekananda Rock Memorial sharing space with the stone sculpture of Tamil poet, Thiruvalluvar. Serene, tranquil and beautiful, Sanguthurai Beach is ideal for a quiet evening. The beach looks particularly serene at sundown cast in a warm orange glow.

Shallow water makes Chothavilai ideal for swimming. With high sand dunes in the background and an endless aqua blue sea stretching into distance, the few hours spent at this beach will be truly memorable.

It is also one among the most seriously affected areas of the district during the 2004 Tsunami. The beach was reconstructed and refurbished to attract visitors again.
Our beach resort is located in near Chothavilai beach. The resort was opened in September 8 th 2011 by Anit Emerson. With a few words from Chothavilai bastor and Managing Director Anit Emerson Staggs they then welcomed the guests of the evening.
It's a celebration like this that has tourism officials excited. “This is a growing business. We want to make things as nice for our customers as possible.”
The economic impact of the AVE resort is expected to extend to the surrounding communities. That’s because Legendary Waters is a destination resort with amenities that go beyond gambling to include dining, lodging, a chothavilai beach for seasonal and transient boaters, pool and showers and lockers for campers and boaters. It also offers shuttle services to and from Bayfield and surrounding communities.
“This is a legitimate destination resort where a family or group of people can take a one- or two-hour drive and really enjoy themselves, “It truly is a resort.”

Age shall not weary as the years go by,

Or the going down of the setting sun,

Days of our youth when remembered,

They mingled with our songs and laughter of yesteryears.

To sit no more at the familiar places of home,

Where our desire and our hope profound,

Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,

To the innermost heart of the land we have known.

The glimmering moonbeams through the shadows,

The stars that shall be bright when we are dust,

     Moving-in gracefully upon heavenly plains,

Above the lonely, lovely Sera Sol Hill.

A single touch of hand of long ago,

Kindled the spark of love aflame

And so it keeps the ember of love burning forever,

Forever in my heart it still remains.

Poetry About Beach
Fourteen days is not enough to be at Jolly Beach.

100 steps is all it takes for many things to reach:
the sand with shells, the ocean, the food, the pool, the bar.
All of these are steps away, nothing's very far.

The sand is clean and soft and warm, the ocean turquoise blue.
Two pools are clean and warm as well, waiting just for you.

The food and drinks delicious, abundant, close at hand.
Every night there is a show, music, dance or band.

The rooms are clean and bright for you, attended every day.
All one does is eat and sleep, the rest of time you play.

There’s a water sport, aerobics, excursions - land and sea.
Ping pong, pool or shuffle board; will you play with me?

Many quiet places too, just to sit and read.
Sunny walks along the beach; what more does one need?

Four plus hours to get there, but it's worth your while.
Waited on from hand to foot, vacationing in real style!

Oh I've missed so many things: like weddings, shops and gym,
spa massages, kidzclub, sunsets as days dim.

Grandpa Dale, we must thank him; grandchild Kylie learned to swim.
The tiny braids still in our hair, worn like crowns from being there!

No matter where you travel, whatever place you reach.
None is more rewarding, than precious Jolly Beach!
